GUILFORDS
PARSON CREEK FARMS

Hello
from northern Missouri, we are located just north west of Meadville, about
half way across the state on highway 36.
We purchased our first goats in 2002 and have been very fortunate
that we started out with some good stock.
This
will be our 5th year in the Heart of Missouri Sale.
By our past sales and show records, you know we strive to raise and
sell top quality animals. We
think we have one of our best kid crops ever this year, some are shown in
these pictures which will be selling this fall in the sale.
Included will be some of these bucks and does that
have already won overall Grand Champion and overall Reserve Grand Champion
in recent shows.
August
1, 2006 our farm was one of the stops of the Missouri Young Farmers &
Young Farm Wives tour. Approximately
250 people toured our facilities that day.
The North Missouri Meat Goat Producers set up a booth and answered
questions as well as help demonstrate the
different areas of our operation.
Everyone
is always welcome to come by and look at the goats or just talk goats.
Just give us a call so we will be home to show
you around.
Check
out our website www.guilfordsparsoncreekfarms.com
, also this website, for
additional pictures that
will be added later of the animals that we will be consigning.
SHERWOOD
FARMS
Sherwood
Farms is located 47 miles northwest of
Springfield
,
Mo.
by
Stockton
Lake
. We bought our first FB
Boer buck from
New Zealand
in November of 1993. Realizing the potential in this meat breed, we went
to
Canada
several times buying embryo kids straight from
South Africa
. Our goal has always been
to have large, correct does that produce excellent show or breeding
stock. We sell percentages
and fullbloods.
In
2007 my son and his family, Scott, Erika and Madeline Huskamp
became part of Sherwood Farms. What
great fun watching and working with my Granddaughter the first season in
the show ring. At the end
of the show season, we had Reserve or Grandchampion
ribbons from every ABGA and IBGA show we attended.
In every Heart Of Missouri Production Sale, I
have consigned does that are show quality. Some have already been shown
and have ribbons and points. I
have offered does that will make excellent additions to breeding herds.
I will do the same for the 2008 sale.
There will be granddaughters of “TRR TERRI” Ennobled, the
large, very correct doe (pictured on left) I showed several
seasons and we are using to rebuild our herd on .
Grandaughters of South Point Belle, a
straight Ventor embryo doe from
South Africa
that is so sound I put her in the ring at 7 years old and won a Grand
Championship and who at 9 years old is ready to kid this week.
Granddaughters from 2 Dox Rightous
and others that we hope to show this summer.

This Fullblood Paint Doe is just one example of
what we took to the Sale last year.
You
are welcome at the farm anytime, just call ahead.

TURTLE
ROCK BOER GOATS

Turtle
Rock is named for the large rock sitting at the entrance to our
property. Goats arrived here in 1990, starting with a large Angora
herd and switching to South African Boer goats when they came to the
Midwest. Raising quality breeding stock is the main focus of our
farm. We sell in the Heart of Missouri Production Sale and Missouri
Stud Ram Sale as well as off the farm. Wether goats are sold for
show and meat.
MAB
Turtle R ock
Hannah, who won Junior Grand Champion at four months, was sold in the 2007
sale, and we will be offering another show doe this year, MAB Turtle Rock
Pollyana, who has 25 ABGA show points and will (hopefully) be bred to a
Guag e
son (a full brother to Collateral Damage) that Agnew Boers has loaned
us. We have also used an Agnew buck out of their Closing Argument (Guage)
and Felina, a Powell/Holman doe who is the sister of Superman Bingo and
will be showing these offspring with plans to include them in the sale.
Genetics
offered this year, from Turtle Rock, go back to Eggsfile, Guage, Ubora and
Bingo. An emphasis on bred does for the Heart of Missouri Production
Sale is our plan. It seems a little difficult some years to have
does bred to kid in November and December; however, we will try to have
several yearling does bred this way.
As
the show season starts, watch for us - many of the animals we are showing
will be in the Heart of Missouri Production Sale in October. Make an
appointment to come by the Farm. We are always happy to talk goats.

AMARUGIA BOER GOATS

Amarugia (pronounced AAm-Ah-Roo-Gee@)
Boer Goats is located on 5 acres north of Drexel, Missouri just outside
the Amarugia Highland Wildlife Conservation area.
We have been active in the boer goat industry since 2000 when Ryan
chose to raise boer goats for his FFA SAE project.
Over the years we have strived to put together a herd of show
quality percentage and fullblood boer goats
with emphasis on breeding for the show ring.
Our
venture into the boer goat industry began when we went to visit the goat
barn at the Missouri State Fair in 2000.
We ran into Barbara
Holaday and she showed us her boer
goats. I fell in love with the
breed but Don and Ryan remained skeptical.
I began researching boer goats on the internet and soon had a trip
scheduled to Triquest Farms in Humansville, Missouri.
We purchased our first percentage does at that time and when the
first does kidded, Don and Ryan were hooked.
Since that date we have added does from the farms many popular
breeders in the U.S. Our does
feature some of the top bloodlines in the industry.
The majority of the does that currently reside in the breeding herd
are from our showstring and occasionally, when they are not busy raising
kids, make a trip back to the show ring.
Amarugia
does are complemented by our herd
sires. Our senior herd sire,
Luch Intimidator is sired by Powell/Holman 13R *Ennobled* and out
of Mzuri Sufi. Intimidator=s
first daughters hit the show ring winning multiple grand and reserve
championships and top ten placings in both open and youth at the 2006 ABGA
Nationals. At Nationals in
2006 Clarence Luchini found an outstanding young buck for Ryan to add as
our junior herd sire. Ash
Creek Texas Star is sired bythe world renowned RRD Gauge *Ennobled* and
out of IBGA National Champion Ash Creek Bright Star *Ennobled*.
We are very excited about what his superior genetic
package will add to our program and are already seeing some great
kids out of Tex.
In
2003 Ryan was fortunate to win
grand champion wether at the Missouri State Fair with one of the first
show wethers he raised. That
year Ryan had the honor of representing the Missouri Meat Goat Producers
Association as the first grand champion wether to appear in the Missouri
State Fair of Sale of Champions. Since
that time, Ryan continued to successfully show wethers with numerous
winnings including reserve
champion wether at the 2004
Missouri State Fair. Ryan also
bred the 2006 San Francisco
Cow Palace reserve champion wether.
2007
was a great year for the Amarugia Boer Goat farm.
Our junior percentage doe, Amarugia Shimmer sired by LUCH
Intimidator, racked up 50 ABGA points for the year with two Overall Grands
and consistently placing at the top of her classes.
It was a good year for bucks. Ash
Creek Texas Star won an Overall Grand and two Reserve Overall Grands in
2007, along with several division Grands and Reserves.
LUCH Intimidator had an excellent year, earning 35 ABGA points and
never placing less than Grand Senior Buck.
He topped off his year with a second place ribbon at ABGA
nationals. He is only 10
progeny points away from being *Ennobled*, which he should earn from this
years kid crop out of him. In
2007 animals owned and shown by Amarugia Boer Goats accumulated over 250
ABGA points!
We
hope you enjoy our animals and we encourage you to make an appointment to
come out to our farm or at least say hi at the shows!
&&&&&&&
Beaver Creek Colt 45 is now Ennobled! Many
of our buyers purchased does bred to Colt 45 in our 2007 Production
sale. There will be more in our 2008 sale. All the points for
ennoblement came from offspring which is the true test of any buck.
SPOTS - SPOTS!!!

Mary Sherwood and Julie Mabrey recently bought a herd of
spotted Nubians and Nubian/boer crosses. These are our young girls
but we do have several mature does that are bred to a
Collateral Damage "Ennobled" full brother with intentions of
presenting a couple of very nice "Polka Dot" Boer crosses at our
Production Sale. When they kid, the
pictures will appear here.

BEAVER
CREEK COLT 45 - This buck is just five points shy of being
Ennobled! Most of his points have come from his offspring.
You, too, will have a chance to have some of these winning offspring as
there will be several in the 2008 Heart of Missouri Production Sale!

Ryan Diefenbach and Demeter. She was Grand Fullblood yearling on
day one at the October Show in Sedalia and Reserve Grand yearling
day
two. She is out of Intimidator and Luch S8 Mollie and has 40+ ABGA
points. We will be offering Demeter siblings in the 2008 sale.
Texas Star was Grand overall day one in Chillicothe in May,
2007 and Reserve Overall at Ozark Empire and Kansas State Fair, 2007.
Several Tex kids will sell in the 2008 sale!
October 12 & 13th the MJBGA held an Open show in Sedalia, Missouri
- on Day 1

Guilford's
704 doe won Overall Grand Champion. The doe 705 (high
selling doe at Heart of MO Sale) purchased and shown by Kyle
Shipley family won Overall Reserve Grand Champion.

2nd Day - Turtle Rock Swanee won Grand in her Division and Overall
Reserve Fullblood Doe shown here with the Mabrey's son and
Daughter-in-law, Ron & Patty Mabrey.
Several of our Heart of Missouri Sale partners won at this
show. Watch for their pictures soon!!
